Hello, World!

“Hello, World!” is typically the first line of code that new programmers are taught to execute. It’s supposed to be the first of many programs that the programmer will write. I chose “Hello, World!” as the title for my first blog post because I would like this post to be the first of many blog posts to come.

I wanted to start a blog primarily because, as mentioned in my “About Me”, I love storytelling and writing. But, I also want to use my blog as a way for me to measure my growth as a writer and as a person. I love looking at my college application essays because they remind me of who I was, and the memories from my college application days come flooding in. What’s more is that by maintaining a blog – out in the open on the internet – I’ll have some accountability and keep writing as opposed to writing in a private journal and putting it aside after a few entries.

To make it easier for me to write regularly, I don’t want to restrict my posts to a specific topic. I’ve had some crazy, funny, and amazing experiences throughout my life and I want to write them all down. Maybe I’ll learn new things about myself in the process.

I’ve also flirted with the idea of writing a book. I’ve always wanted to. A lot of people have told me that either I should write a book or that I seem like the type to write a book. These are interesting comments and I do have a strong feeling that I’ll write a book eventually.

I look forward to writing blog posts and if Eesen isn’t the one reading this post, then thank you, stranger, for reading my post. I hope you find something in my blog that brightens up your day.
